The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the list of Nigerian universities that received the highest number of applications for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This announcement was made by JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, during the 2024 policy meeting in Abuja on Thursday, July 18.

According to the data, the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) emerged as the most sought-after university with 64,143 applicants. Here is the full list:

1. University of Ilorin (UNILORIN): 64,143 applicants
2. Lagos State University (LASU): 62,601 applicants
3. University of Lagos (UNILAG): 59,105 applicants
4. Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE): 55,481 applicants
5. Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka: 54,495 applicants
6. University of Ibadan (UI): 50,598 applicants
7. University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN): 48,544 applicants
8. University of Benin (UNIBEN): 47,811 applicants
9. Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife: 44,155 applicants
