Security operatives have apprehended a suspected drug dealer named Ikechukwu Michael, aged 26, in Lagos. Michael was caught with 407 packets of Arizona on Monday, June 17, around 5:15 p.m.
Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the arrest, stating that the police received intelligence about drug trafficking in the Ojo area of Lagos State. A team of detectives was promptly dispatched to the scene.

“The seized items were taken to the police station, and preliminary investigations are currently underway,” Hundeyin reported.
In another development, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, has introduced dedicated phone numbers for Area Commands and key officers to enhance security across the state.
Hundeyin explained that this new initiative replaces the previous practice of using personal phone numbers for official communications. “Under this new arrangement, specific phone numbers are permanently assigned to respective offices. Even if personnel are reassigned, the phone numbers will remain unchanged.”
“The Commissioner of Police (CP) has implemented this measure to enhance accessibility, reduce response times, and improve communication for the residents of Lagos State.”
He also praised the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) of Lagos State Command, led by Apostle Kehinde Showemimo, for generously supplying desktop phones to all police divisions in the state. These phones will facilitate the use of newly introduced phone lines.
The CP emphasized that this initiative will significantly bolster the command’s dedication to community engagement and contribute to creating a safer environment statewide.
