Air Peace has responded following allegations of safety violations, which were brought to light after the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) communicated concerns to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). The allegations arose shortly after Air Peace launched its Lagos-London route, a significant expansion for the airline.

The UK CAA highlighted issues after a ramp inspection on April 7, 2024, including queries about using the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB). Air Peace addressed these promptly, affirming that it had already secured the necessary approvals from the NCAA for using EFBs on its Boeing 777 aircraft. The airline clarified that all aircraft have the requisite charging ports and iPad mounts in the cockpit, ensuring compliance with aviation standards.

Regarding the cockpit library’s location, Air Peace noted that while the books were customarily kept under the jump seat, it would accommodate the inspector’s preference to position them behind the captain for all future operations. This adjustment demonstrates the airline’s responsiveness to regulatory feedback and commitment to maintaining rigorous safety standards.
Additionally, the airline acknowledged a captain’s deviation concerning the chosen runway exit, which led to a slight delay for another aircraft. This matter was addressed internally to reinforce adherence to preferred exit procedures, ensuring smoother operations going forward.
These incidents underscore the critical oversight role played by aviation authorities like the UK CAA and NCAA, ensuring that airline operations meet stringent safety requirements. Air Peace’s proactive approach to addressing these concerns and open communication with regulatory bodies reflect its commitment to passenger safety and operational integrity.
Meanwhile, Air Peace has also commenced ticket sales for its London route, with economy class tickets priced at N1.2 million and business class tickets at N4 million. This marks a new chapter for the airline as it expands its international footprint.
