About the D-Prize Global Competition

The D-Prize Global Competition seeks entrepreneurs to design new non-profit or social ventures that distribute existing poverty solutions to thousands, if not millions, of people. They fund new organizations that aim to scale up the distribution of proven poverty solutions.

D-Prize has identified over a dozen products and services known to alleviate poverty. They now challenge entrepreneurs to create ways to deliver these solutions to those in need.

Propose Your Own Challenge: The D-Prize Global Competition is specifically interested in distributing proven poverty interventions to those in need. If you know of a highly effective intervention backed by credible evidence, they want to hear about it and see your plan to increase its distribution.

Prizes

D-Prize will award the most promising teams up to $20,000 USD to launch their new organization wherever extreme poverty exists.

Eligibility Criteria

D-Prize is for new organizations. Most of their awardees are first-time entrepreneurs who have not yet launched their organization or raised other funding.
They especially encourage applicants from low- and middle-income countries.
Applications from existing organizations will be considered only if the core focus is distributing an existing and evidence-based poverty intervention.
They typically will not support organizations with more than 18 months of full-time operations or that have raised more than $30,000 USD in outside funding.
