Chevening Scholarship 2020-2021 – Chevening scholarship 2020 2021 is open for international students in the UK. The Chevening scholarship, offers a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers, and decision makers from all over the globe to better develop professionally as well as academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.
This scholarships are the UK Government’s global scholarship programme, and funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations.
This is a unique programme that offers awards to outstanding scholars who posses leadership qualities from around the globe to study for a Master’s degree in any chosen field at any UK University.
The Chevening scholarship has a large scope, and dishes out approximately 700 scholarships awards each year to students from more than 110 countries, and enables students from developing countries access to British tertiary education institutions.

The Chevening scholarship encompasses the following;
- Travel cost to and from the UK
- Cost of one Visa application
- University tuition fees
- Monthly allowance
- Arrival allowance
- A travel agent to attend Chevening events in the United Kingdom
- Homeward departure allowance.

Paid or unpaid internships.
Students can complete work experience before, during, or after graduating from their undergraduate studies. However, any compulsory employment that counts towards your undergraduate or postgraduate or postgraduate course would not be eligible.
Timeline
August 2019 Applications open by 12:00 BST
Go through Chevening guidance, and then apply through your country/territory’s page at www.chevening.org/apply November 5 2019. Application closes at 12:00 GMT.
The deadline is slated for 12:00 GMT on November 5. Make sure you don’t leave it till the last minute to submit your application, because late submissions will not be accepted.
For November 6 2019, applications are sifted against eligibility criteria.
Review the Chevening’s eligibility criteria. Mid-November-December 2019 Reading committee assessments.
The independent reading committee will assess all eligible applications. Their scores and rankings are thereafter passed back to the British embassy/high commission.
Early to mid-February 2020 applicants get shortlisted for interviews.
Once the applications that were passed to the embassy/high commission have been reviewed by them, they produce a shortlist of those who they will invite to interview.
The deadline for submitting two references and education documents is 12:00 GMT (noon). Read about what is required by Chevening from your references. From 2 March to 1 May 2020 Interviews commence.
Candidates from all over the globe get interviewed by panels at British embassies and high commissions.

The deadline to meet Chevening’s English language requirement and get at least one unconditional UK University offer stands at 17:00 BST.
