According to a recent survey by Legit.ng, dealers across the country have responded positively to the government’s policies, with many noting that these efforts have been crucial in stabilizing prices. “The government’s removal of VAT and import duties has been a game changer,” noted a manager at Gasland, a leading LPG marketing firm. “Moreover, the availability of forex has eased the import process, directly impacting our pricing strategy.”
One of the government’s standout initiatives has been the distribution of one million free LPG cylinders. This move not only promotes the use of cooking gas but also ensures that more families can afford this cleaner and more efficient energy source. “The distribution of gas cylinders is a commendable step towards increasing LPG usage in Nigerian homes,” the Gasland manager added.
While the current price reduction is a positive outcome, continuous efforts are necessary to maintain and potentially lower the prices further.
