The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has dismissed the Chairman of the State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH Eze Sergeant Awuse. According to Naija News, the governor made this announcement during a special meeting with the state’s traditional rulers at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday.
Governor Fubara announced that Eze Chike Wodo would be the new chairman of the council, emphasizing that the position cannot remain vacant.

The governor explained that Awuse had not been effectively leading the council, describing him as unstable. Fubara stated, “It seems your chairman has disappeared. Maybe when he is ready, he will write to me. If he gets approval, he can then attend the meeting. But you already know his position. He is not a stable man and cannot say one thing in the morning and another in the evening. Because of this, he has chosen to hide. You will have to bear with this situation until God helps us resolve this problem. By God’s grace, it will be resolved soon.”
It’s worth noting that the former governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, had previously replaced the then Chairman of the Council, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, with Awuse.
