Juventus pulled off a late comeback to win 3-3 against Bologna on Monday. This match was Juventus’s first without their former coach, Massimiliano Allegri, who was fired after a heated incident during last week’s Italian Cup final.
Bologna, led by Thiago Motta, started strong and quickly scored two goals. Riccardo Calafiori scored first, followed by Santiago Castro, a 19-year-old making his debut. However, Jens Odgaard’s third goal was disallowed for offside.
Juventus changed their approach in the second half under interim coach Paolo Montero. Montero had been coaching Juventus’s Under-19 team before stepping in. Juventus began to press more aggressively and took advantage of errors by Bologna. Federico Chiesa scored first for Juventus, followed by goals from Arkadiusz Milik and Kenan Yildiz, which tied the game.

Montero was visibly enthusiastic on the sidelines as the match ended in a draw. This keeps Juventus in contention for the league as the season nears its end.
Motta, whose contract with Bologna ends soon, has been rumoured to be a candidate for the Juventus coaching job. Despite the speculation, Motta has stated he hasn’t decided yet.
Based on tiebreak rules, this draw keeps Bologna in third place ahead of Juventus.
