MultiChoice, the owner of DStv and GOtv, has been compelled by a court order to revert to its previous subscription prices. The company had raised prices, but the court found the increase unjustified.
Reports indicate that the price hike led to the loss of over a million subscribers in Nigeria. The increase was initially implemented to reflect market realities, including high inflation and the devaluation of the naira.
The revised prices for DStv packages are as follows:

- DStv Premium: N29,500 (previously N37,000)
- DStv Compact+: N19,800 (previously N25,000)
- DStv Compact Bouquet: N12,500 (previously N15,700)
- DStv Confam: N7,400 (previously N9,300)
- DStv Yanga: N4,200 (previously N5,100)
- DStv Padi: N2,950 (previously N3,600)
For GOtv subscribers, the new prices are:
- GOtv Super+: N12,500 (previously N15,700)
- GOtv Super: N7,600 (previously N9,600)
- GOtv Max: N5,700
- GOtv Joli: N3,950
- GOtv Jinja: N2,700 (previously N3,300)
It remains uncertain if MultiChoice will comply with the court-ordered month-free subscription, as the company intends to challenge the order, claiming it does not align with their business model.
