The Katsina State Police Command reportedly killed three bandits during a gunfight in Katsina State.
Naija News reports that the Command’s spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed in a statement on Saturday that security operatives thwarted a kidnapping attempt, rescued all the victims, mostly women, and neutralized three suspected notorious bandits.
Sadiq said that information was received on Friday around 7:23 PM at the Sabuwa Divisional Police Headquarters that armed bandits, wielding dangerous weapons, had attacked Duya village in the Maibakko ward of the Sabuwa Local Government Area and kidnapped several women.

Upon receiving the report, the DPO of Sabuwa Divisional Headquarters, CSP Aliyu Mustapha, collaborated with vigilante members and mobilized a team of operatives to the scene.
Sadiq stated, “Upon noticing the presence of the team, the bandits opened fire, to which the team responded gallantly, successfully thwarting the kidnapping attempt and rescuing all the victims.
“While scanning the scene, the bodies of three neutralized suspected bandits were recovered.”
The State Police Commissioner, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, commended the operatives for their exceptional bravery and reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the state’s residents.
