The Undergraduate & Masters MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program at University of California Berkeley scholarship offers a holistic support – financial, academic, social, and career counseling to 113 students from Sub-Saharan Africa from 2012 to 2020. UC Berkeley gets $30 million in funding.
Michigan State University MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program
This MasterCard Foundation Scholarship for African Students is available for Application at Michigan State University USA. The MasterCard Foundation, partners with over 10 recognized universities and higher institutions around the globe to offer the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program.
It is a $500 million education initiative that will offer talented yet economically disadvantaged students from developing countries, especially from Africa, with comprehensive support for secondary and university education. The scholarship will be available to 15,000 African Students for a period of 10 years.
7UP Harvard Business School Scholarship for Nigerian Students
The 7UP Harvard Business School Scholarship was created by 7UP Bottling Company Plc of Nigeria to commemorate it’s 50th anniversary and align with the company’s overall vision of creating a greener future for promising Nigerians.
This scholarship is open to Nigerian citizen and covers tuition, board and travel expenses for both years of the MBA programme.

The University of Toronto Canada MasterCard Foundation Scholarship offers the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at the university to develop Africa’s next generation of leaders.
Owing to the Foundation’s visionary support, U of T can now provide 67 African students with one of the world’s top ranked education in one of the world’s most multi-cultural cities. This scholarship is available December/January.
McGill University Canada – MasterCard Foundation Scholarships
McGill University, Canada has partnered with the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program to provide undergraduate scholarships for African students over a period of 10 years. Scholarships, will be open at the Masters level starting in the 2016-2017 academic year. The application deadline period is December/January.
Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship Program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics
This scholarship program is a two-year fellowship program open to outstanding PhD students nominated by their universities. To qualify for this fellowship, you must apply during your second or third year of PhD studies.
Fellowships are granted by Microsoft Research at the discretion of Microsoft. The application deadline period is August to October.

Commonwealth Scholarship
The Commonwealth Scholarship commission each year invites each nominating agency, university or university body to forward a specific number of nominations for the Commonwealth scholarship for developing countries.
Each nominating agency/university/university body is given the responsibility for its own selection process, and in most cases will set a closing date in the months preceding the CSC’s deadline for nominations. Approximately 200-300 scholarships get awarded each year.
UCL/AET Undergraduate International Outreach Bursaries UK
University College London (UCL) and the Africa Educational Trust (AET) have partnered in a scheme to enable students from Africa, who are financially unable to study in the UK, to pursue full-time undergraduate studies at UCL.
Two full bursaries are available annually, with each bursary consisting of full tuition fees and a maintenance allowance for the duration of the student’s programme of study, and economy air travel to/from the UK at the beginning and end of the bursary holder’s degree programme.
University of Warwick UK and ANFCT Scholarship for African Students
The University of Warwick International Office and the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust (ANFCT) awards up to 5 scholarships of £10,000 each to students from Sub-Saharan Africa each year.

Czech Government Scholarships for International Students from Developing Countries
The Czech Republic Government, offers a number of undergraduate, Master’s and Doctoral scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance Programme in support of the study of foreign nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic.
200 Swedish Institute Study Scholarships for Developing Countries
The Swedish Institute Study, offers scholarships for 12 developing countries to study for Undergraduate and Master’s degree programme.
The scholarship covers both the tuition fee as well as the living expenses of the amount of SEK8,000 (€878.9799) per month. Scholarship holders within the SI Study Scholarships get a travel grant in connection with the scholarship. The travel grant is a lump sum of SEK 10.000.(€1098.7249).
Italy- UCSC Scholarship for African Students
UCSC, Italy offers 12 full Masters scholarships that includes tuition and board for students from qualified African countries. It awards 12 full tuition and 39 partial scholarships.
The full scholarships includes tuition and board for the length of the program. Candidates who do not qualify for the full scholarship may be chosen for the partial scholarships that cover part of tuition, whereas all other living costs and travel will be at the expense of the student.
DADD Scholarship in Germany
DADD Scholarship Programmes have been of benefit to hundreds of African students since it began. The scholarships are awarded each year to postgraduate students who wish to study for a Master’s or PhD degree.
The DAAD scholarships can support students who want to study in their country (in country scholarships) or abroad.
VLIR- UOS Masters Scholarships in Belgium for Developing Countries
VLIR- UOS awards scholarships to students from developing countries to study for a master or training programme in Flanders, Belgium.
It awards 180 Masters & 70 training Scholarships in Belgium for students from Developing countries in 2012 (50% of African students and almost 50% for women). The scholarship covers all related expenses (full cost).
TWAS Postgraduate Research Grants in Basic Sciences for Developing Countries
Under the TWAS Research Grants Programme in Basic Sciences, research grants are awarded to high-level promising research projects in biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics carried out by either individual scientists or research in Africa and developing countries, to help them purchase the research facilities that they need to enhance their productivity.
Research Grants to individual scientists total up to a maximum of US$15,000 while Research Grants to research units amounts to a maximum of US$30,000.
