Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have fatally shot a businessman and the National Treasurer of the Eggon Community Development Association (ECDA) in Nasarawa State, Chief Godwin Bala Ewuga.
According to multiple sources, Ewuga was killed on Sunday night, May 26, 2024, in Ubbe, Akun Development Area of the state.
The deceased, who owned the popular Comfort Zone Motel in Ubbe, was reportedly targeted for resisting abduction.
A statement from a family source, Jacob Ezekiel, revealed that his body was discovered on Monday morning in a farm near his hotel.
Alhaji Umar Galleh, the spokesman for ECDA, confirmed the tragic incident on Monday, stating that it had been reported to the Nigerian police for necessary action.
In response to the incident, Mr. Mandy David Abuluya, the President of ECDA, expressed profound shock at the news of Mr. Ewuga’s death.
“We are actively working with the relevant authorities to uncover the circumstances surrounding his premature demise. Our thoughts and prayers are with the law enforcement agencies, and we hope that those responsible will be swiftly apprehended and brought to justice,” he said.
