In Kano State, a dispute over the rightful heir to the Kano throne has escalated into a broader political controversy, with NNPP’s state chairman Hashim Dungurawa alleging federal interference. Dungurawa claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration unduly supports the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, due to shared Yoruba lineage, destabilizing local governance.

Speaking to journalists in Kano on the recent achievements of the NNPP, Dungurawa expressed concerns that the federal government’s support for Bayero is not in the state’s best interest. According to him, the heavy presence of security forces protecting Emir Bayero raises questions about the impartiality and intentions of the federal government.
