Wema Bank Launches Self-service Voice Solution to Facilitate Online Banking – Looking beyond the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, Wema Bank Plc has just launched its self-service solution to boost online banking.
This newly introduced self-service banking feature comes with an Interactive Voice Response (IVR). The essence of the IVR is to help customers get information and assistance when it comes to their banking needs. Wema bank customers can do the following using this service; check financial statements, resolve account security issue, and confirm account balance. This self-service is hosted on Wema Bank’s digital platform called “ALAT”.
Asides what were listed above, this service has also been created to assist customers with resolving transactions issues and app related issues.
Speaking about the service, the Managing Director, Wema Bank, Ademola Adebise said “The lockdown should in now way impinge on customer’s ability to carry out their banking transactions. With the launch of ALAT in 2017 being a solution to a problem of the future, it seems that that future is now. Wema Bank customers who have signed up on ALAT can now resolve their regularly encountered issues with the novel and incredibly easy self-service feature.”
The covid-19 outbreak presented the opportunity to launch ALAT’s self-service based on the fact that in this period, staffs may not be able to answer calls effectively since they are being forced to do their work from their homes.
Now, the self-service solution will help customers resolve issues without visiting the banking halls or even calling Wema Bank call center (Purple Connect).
Head, Brand and Marketing Communications, Wema Bank, Mrs. Funmilayo Falola advised customers of Wema Bank as she says “the ongoing pandemic calls for responsibility from all of us. We are the solution and it is our duty to adhere to instructions from the government and medical experts during this period.”
