Winter Japan Cultural Camp 2023 – Japan is a country that has always been steeped in tradition and culture. Japan Cultural Camp (JCC) sponsored by AYFN is a program designed to introduce Japanese culture to children of all ages. This year’s camp will take place from 9th to 13th April 2023 and will be held in Osaka and Kyoto – Two great Japanese cities.
This is your chance to experience the winter Japan Cultural Camp firsthand, and learn about some of its most iconic traditions, including snowboarding, skiing, hot-potting, yukata (a type of summer kimono), and much more. About the Winter Japan Cultural Camp
The Winter Japan Cultural Camp, led by AYFN, is an exchange and cultural learning program. It provides winter students the opportunity to experience Japanese culture through engaging activities and programming.
The immersive camp offers a unique educational opportunity for students of all ages and backgrounds to explore the country’s rich history and vibrant contemporary culture.
AYFN’s experienced educators provide participants with a comprehensive cultural immersion experience that includes both classroom and hands-on learning opportunities. Activities range from traditional tea ceremony classes to cooking demonstrations with renowned chefs. In addition, participants enjoy excursions to some of Japan’s most iconic spots such as Mount Fuji, Tokyo Imperial Palace, and Kyoto Imperial Palace.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Winter Japan Cultural Camp 2023 include:
- being at least 15 years old by the day of the camp.
- be from countries that are members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
- have a good academic record and excellent communication skills.
- be able to communicate in English
- have a valid passport
- be physically and mentally healthy
How to Apply for the Winter Japan Cultural Camp 2023
The Winter Japan Cultural Camp is an immersive experience for students aged 15-35 years old who are interested in experiencing the culture and traditions of Japan. If you are interested in participating in the Winter Japan Cultural Camp, the following documents will be required:
- Passport
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- A letter of motivation on why you should be considered for the Winter Japan Cultural Camp.
- Short introduction video (which should be uploaded to YouTube).
- AYFN Membership Card (if you are a member).
In order to apply, you will be required to visit the AYFN website and fill out your application online. The first selection process is based on your application and the documents submitted. After that, interviews will be held for the shortlisted candidates which will be the basis of the second and final selection.
Finally, it is important to note that an application fee of $8 will be required from nonmembers of the AYFN while registration for AYFN members is free. Furthermore, after December 15th, 2022, all applications will attract a $20 charge.

To be eligible to attend the Winter Japan Cultural Camp, you must be between the ages of 15 to 35.
You can apply online by filling out the application form on the camp website. You will need to provide your name, email address, and phone number.
